The long-term results of poor sleep, if left untreated, or going to take a toll. Every time you stop breathing, your body has to wake up enough to get you to start breathing again. You may not be conscious of this, but your sleep is being interrupted. This is not sustainable.
You don't have a lot of episodes per hour, so a mouthpiece that helps prevent obstructions might be helpful. However, if your episodes are considered "central" (meaning your brain stops telling you to breath periodically) instead of "obstructive" (tongue or throat tissue is causing the cessation of breathing), then a mouthpiece won't be an option and you'll need a CPAP.
