Here's just one that I thought about today: we expected to go into WSU and compete. Back in the old MWC days if we'd play a P5 equivalent you'd always have in the back of your mind the thought that we knew we were good, but we had only really played inferior competition. Not so anymore. With dominance in 2020 followed by wins vs. Arizona and ranked Utah and ASU, we knew we could compete. We now look at the P5s and feel competitive. I'm not saying we think we can beat the top tier SEC or B1G teams consistently, but we know we belong. Case in point: I don't know much about UTSA or how they've gotten to an undefeated, ranked season. But without knowing if they dominate or have had lucky wins, I believe BYU could win that game because I believe BYU is at a higher level than G5 teams. I believe BYU was the better team vs. Boise, we just turned the ball over in the rain. It feels right that we beat Utah St. solidly, even though they're competing for a MWC title. That's a subtle attitude shift worth noting.
