Oh man. They are so hard to get through. I am on Book 8 and it is tough to pick up again. His writing is so
repetitive. He describes the internal angst of the characters in pages and pages and then several chapters later describes the angst all over again.
The plot moves so slowly it feels like an epic fantasy story about glaciers moving.
And every book is intensely slow right up to the end and then something big happens.
And then start the next book and have to slog through 400 pages of character angst and exposition to get to the next exciting development.

2nd best series ever written. Right after the Stormlight Archives and right before Lord of the Rings

books 4-8 are a little slow at times. Book 1 is amazing all by itself, so go ahead and read that to see.
