that's not to say that there are not great, and I mean really great moments in those books, but it does turn into a rather complex slog for 8-10 I'd say. Then 11 rights the ship, and Sanderson finishes off 12-14 in really good form. 12 is uneven as He's trying to find the voice for some of the characters, but 13 and 14 are really great and he finishes the story as well as anyone other than Robert Jordan could. I'm just starting book 4 in my first reread since 2013, and I'm hooked line and sinker all over again.
