Robbie McCombs is reporting that coaches have been working Lohner out at the 5 potentially as part of the rotation there with Harward when coaches want a more versatile lineup on the floor. This would be similar to the 5 out offense they had in 2019 with Haws, Barcello, Toolson, Seljaas and Childs. That lineup killed it putting five 3pt scoring threats on the perimeter and really spread defenses out. I love Rich Harward but he's kind of a flow killer and is a liability on the perimeter defensively. Running with Lohner at the 5 gives us a 3pt threat there who can also put the ball on the floor and beat slower big men off the dribble. With no bigman clogging up the paint and bringing a defender in the key, it will be wide open for drives and backdoor cuts, much like it was in 2019.
