I think I'll side with Harvard Health and other experts in this research space.
As I said, the calorie in/calorie out model that suggests all calories are the same makes sense to us intuitively because we aren't experts in that space, which is why the idea has taken hold (plus the food industry promoted the idea and biased/funded early research that developed nutrition guidelines decades ago, as the article I linked to explains). But anyway, I'll follow the science and listen to the experts in this space. I knew some would disagree with me here, though, and that's fine! As I said originally, this isn't my hill to die on, just sharing the research I've read lately. Folks are free to make their own choices and it doesn't bother me!
