This is true in some areas, not in others.
In a validated, population-based study where participants self-report their daily fluid intake, Daily diet soda drinkers had a higher risk of stroke/MI than did daily sugared-soda drinkers.

That risk was reduced if you were a “less than daily” diet soda drinker.

So I don’t drink diet soda on Sundays anymore and my risk is lower now. 😉
