Then your odds of getting points if you get it are still low based on field position. Add on top of that the odds of giving up points being close to 90% if you don't get it and it was an awful, awful decision. Basically you were gambling on a less than 5% chance with the reward being 20 yards of field position with the highly likeliest outcome was you giving up points.
