So I feel like there has been a ton of negative on our football team and people saying we don't have P5 depth...etc
Some thoughts.

This is the deepest secondary BYU has ever had and is P5 deep. I don't think you can even argue it.
Our QB room is top 10 in the country.
Our WRs are the best the program has ever had. They would be very good for any P5 team outside of maybe Alabama, USC and a few others.
Our OL dominated a P5 defensive line this past week despite missing multiple starters for most of the game.

All of this has happened at BYU while according to recruiting rankings we have the very worst recruiting seasons we have ever had the past few years.

So give credit where credit is do as the coaches have done a great job finding diamonds in the rough and developing talent.

Where do we need to get better? Defensive Line is area #1 where we don't have enough talent or depth. I really like Tyler Batty, but he is a 4-3 end our 3-4 outside backer. He is not a 3-3 or 3-4 end. Caden Haws has done a good job of being stout. Leiataua and others have been OK as well.

We need to get better in the LBer group which has traditionally been a place of strength. Tooley and Wilgar have been good (even with Wilgar playing out of position). No one else after Pili has shown that they should be playing.

We also need to do a better job calling a defense in my opinion. 98% of defensive play callers would not call the ultra conservative scheme that we do. We don't even attempt to confuse QBs. This is at his core who Tuiaki is as a defensive play caller as we have seen year after year. But we could also do for a talent upgrade in particular on the d-line.
