to punish the whole class because of what other kid did.

So, not only is my girl really upset about her pumpkin she carved all by herself being ruined, she also got in trouble and punished for someone else damaging her pumpkin. I really don't get why so many teachers punish everyone in the class and make them do things like stay in from recess and stuff for the actions of one kid. It really upsets my kids that they keep getting punished for other kids actions. Also makes class less likely to report bad behavior of others when they know they will be in trouble themselves if the teacher finds out.
