As BYU transitions to a schedule with mostly P5 teams, including this year,
remember that P5 teams that finish the season with only 2 losses are Top 10 teams. A one-loss season means you are a Top 5 team. A 3-loss season is a Top 25 season.

Utah has had 2 seasons with 3 losses and they finished ranked 16/17 in both of them.

TCU has one 1-loss season and finished ranked 3rd. They have one 2-loss season and they finished ranked 7th. And one 3-loss season and they still finished ranked 9th.

Shoot, there have been 25 teams [from 2015-19] finished ranked in the Top 25 with 4 losses (inc. Utah in 2016) and 4 teams with 5 losses.

Get ready for 3-loss seasons to be really good seasons.

There have been 10 teams from the PAC-12 in those 5 seasons finish with 3 losses or less [out of 60 teams total]. They all finished ranked at worst in the Top 15-20:

2015 Stanford - 2 losses 3/3
2015 Utah - 3 losses 16/17
2016 Stanford - 3 losses 12/12
2016 USC - 3 losses 5/3
2016 Washington - 2 losses 4/4
2017 USC - 3 losses 10/12
2017 Washington - 3 losses 15/16
2018 Washington State - 2 losses 10/10
2019 Oregon - 2 losses 5/5
2019 Utah - 3 losses 16/16
