The people I know who are always set on paying stuff off & never having any "debt" don't have much money.
The wealthy people I know all understand leverage and risk and have "debt" everywhere.
Debt should be thought of in terms of an overall balance sheet, not each individual loan.

This is incorrect man. They can wait until they pass away, get a step in basis on their assets, and have all that growth

They can let the debt run up forever and then have it paid for with assets that have stepped up in basis at their death.
