Clearly the person who wrote this doesn’t understand finance.
Normal people don’t just borrow our of necessity, they borrow because it’s smart money management, particularly while rates are low. I finally “broke even” 3 years ago on my house. But instead of paying it off, I paid the minimum and invested the rest and made a 90% return over 3 years. I’m definitely not rich, I was poor until a few years ago, but I definitely took advantage of that loan and now it will pay for my retirement

This is incorrect man. They can wait until they pass away, get a step in basis on their assets, and have all that growth

They can let the debt run up forever and then have it paid for with assets that have stepped up in basis at their death.
