I'm currently floating a down payment on a rental property using that HELOC rather than pulling money out of the stock market to season it for 2-3 months prior to closing in a low interest checking account. I'll pay the HELOC balance off within the first 6 months, but it's a no brainer for me to use some of the equity in my house for this purpose at 1% interest.
