What is a greater source of inspiration than the backbone of our economy, MLMs? I say there is none.
So I spent a few minutes developing an "MLM" inspired rankings system. When you defeat a team, they are added to your downline. You get bonus points for the fewer downlines a team is already a part of. You toss that all together and you get a beautiful ranking system that accounts for only winning (losses don't punish you outside of earning no new downline), no road, no point margin, no weather, or which conference you are a member of, just winning.
Good news: we're moving up! Bad news, we're now behind UTSA and App State.
