You know that the powers that be in the PAC have read the mocking tweets and articles that BYU is undefeated in the conference, that BYU leads the PAC12 South, and that the conference stinks yet again.
You also know that the conference would love to quash that talk. And finally, it is pretty much common knowledge that P12 officiating operates in a more political manner than any of the other major conferences. So don't be surprised at several questionable calls going against the Cougars on Saturday.*(see endnote)
It is easy to call holding to negate a big play. Or PI to sustain a USC drive. Or targeting to take an important BYU defender out of the game. Hopefully, BYU is good enough to overcome that, but I expect a Virginia-esque shootout where 3 or 4 calls could significantly alter the outcome.
