I agree that people should stay away if they are knowingly sick (however, in the related post, the poster's kids were almost certainly sick before going to Thanksgiving yesterday.)

I've recently had that same head cold the poster is complaining about and had the stuffiness and coughing. But I'm over it and presumably my immune system is better now than it was before. It's life but now because of the pandemic we act as if someone did something wrong if someone gets sick.
