They are paying him $12 mil per year whether he attends staff meetings or not
In fact he can hire someone to read work emails and attend office parties for him. Riley need never set foot on campus outside of his offices and stadium and they will pay him $12 million per year. He couldn’t care less about university politics or culture and may never even meet or even learn his bosses name.
