Put down your pitchforks for a second! Of course I would love an NY6 Game this year. But it seems as though there is a little bit of a CB problem with (a) people hoping against hope we get into one and (b) people cynically squishing those in group (a).
This may be beating a dead horse, but this has been a GREAT season for BYU, even if we lose in an Independence Bowl game. We have beaten Utah and a bunch of other PAC-12 schools, to the point that Utah fans are *talking down their own conference* in order to try to discount our dominance. We played a lot of good games, lost one we probably should have won to a scrappy Boise State team, and beat both the UofU and USU. We accepted an invite to increasingly impressive looking BIG-12 and outperformed on a grueling schedule. We shut up all the pundits who claimed last season was just because of our weak schedule.
I guess what I am saying is, I'd love but don't expect a NY6 or other bowl game. I will be very happy if we win our bowl, and bummed if we lose. But this season is a heck of a success in my mind, and I look forward to the coming years.
