The Dodgers will still have plenty enough of hitting and pitching depth to get to the postseason, the issue becomes that once they get there, they lack that elite, #1 starter that you can plan on pitching two starts and a relief appearance in a series. Kershaw has always been hit or miss in the playoffs. Buehler and Urias aren't there yet. I'm very, very hopeful that the team will find some way to amicably part with Trevor Bauer this offseason, as I just find him to be a repugnant human being.
I don't think there are any other legit #1 starters available in Free Agency or likely to shake loose in the Trade market this year, so watching Scherzer walk away stings.
