Technically if the margin is razor thin between MSU and BYU, BYU can improve its
resume more than MSU this week. Baylor, Utah, and Utah State winning their CCG’s against #5, #10, and #19 is better than Michigan winning its CCG against #13.
BYU’s resume may end up including wins over multiple ranked conference champs and a loss to a top 5 conference champ.
The committee has stated that they will start from scratch to rank teams this week so while extremely unlikely, I think it is more likely we pass MSU than Baylor (OSU would make the playoff anyway after beating Baylor, giving Baylor the NY6 spot)

Baylor and/or Oregon may be more attractive to bowls even if they lose. They don’t have to follow the strict rankings.
