1) This had nothing to do with “woke” Dixie state and everything to do with job placement of students after leaving Dixie state. The name proved to be a problem and they were falling behind other universities because of it.

2) This had to be voted on by the state legislature. A highly conservative, LDS, Republican body. They approved it based on the recommendation of the university and after much discussion. If anything, your issue should be with the conservative state of Utah.

3) I’ve worked in advertising and product development for 20+ years. Utah Tech is a way better name than Dixie. It will help the university grow from a brand perspective in ways it never could before. Ensign College on the other hand was a step down IMO.
