Additionally, your position if you can't recover your car is worse than his position if he chooses not to recover your car for a bad deal negotiation. Would you be willing to leave your vehicle where it is, risk a littering fine and worse from the state/fed, or file off the VINs and abandon your vehicle for good? Would you be able to find a reasonable alternative in your time constraints to meet your price demands? I seriously doubt you could negotiate a free deal just because he is creative enough to film a video about the recovery. He also has real costs and risks associated with the recovery that has to be covered.
