Gotta love bureaucracy. Finishing building a home.
Of course there are many fees and inspections when you build a home, but we are nearing the end. Regulations in my state require that the inspector schedule you within 48 hours, and if for any reason they can't make it within 24 hours of that time, they are required to call you and reschedule for the next business day.

We have been waiting for almost 2 weeks for the electrical inspector to do a really short inspection. No calls, the date just changes each day to the next day. Finally I called him. He apologized profusely and said he would see me early the next morning. That was 5 days ago. Now he basically says he will get around to it when he gets around to it.

The best part is that because he is the inspector, if I call his supervisor and complain, he can just fine us, fail us, etc. There's no real oversight - so he can do what he wants. An inspector earlier got in a fight with another inspector - and fined us for a bunch of little things I am sure he would not have had a problem with except he was ticked at the other guy.

Yeah - government regulations suck.
