First play was a batted ball 2nd and 10 from the 43

fly sweep S Nacua for 5 yards to the 48 3rd and 5… when he went out of bounds the chains got messed up and the first down markers went from the 44 of BYU to 46 of USC

Quick out to Hill for 5 yards down at the 47 of USC… first down but the chains showed him a yard short .. I’m not sure how the ref knew the chains were wrong but BYU gained 10 yards in three plays for the first down
