It’s something that few, if any, other fan bases understand or can replicate. When BYU travels to a rarely visited location it means something special for the local fans and members of the church. It’s much more than just a football game. For example, those 20k+ fans at TN in 2019, most from surrounding states, relished in having BYU in town, not just for football, but to reconnect with what BYU represents. Those away games me so much for the locals.
I know I may be in the minority on this, but I take away losses harder than home losses because of how much an away game means to the BYU fans in that area.
