1. Southwest is just fine. If you know what you’re getting and that’s enough for you, who cares. Ride with pride.

2. But also on Southwest, don’t try to cheat the system. If your ticket says b49 don’t pretend you’re b30. I’m not going to sweat an A24 standing at A21 but there’s a limit. Don’t be that guy.

3. SLC’s new airport configuration is just fine. Weird that there’s so much whining.

4. This isn’t a fashion show. Sure, if you have to get off the plane and step right into a business meeting, you dress accordingly. But to the lady in leather pants and jacket 2 seats in front of me, why?? Relax. Be comfortable. (She does look very nice, though.)

5. 83% of the value of having access to a captain’s lounge is to be able to go to nicer, cleaner bathrooms in peace and with less chance of hearing the intestinal explosions of your neighbor. It’s VERY worth it.

6. If you have to expense all or most of your vacation with debt, maybe don’t go? But if you do, there are ways to save money. Explore them. I’m not here to judge, but yes I am. (Sure hope some of my family members aren’t on CB.)

7. It’s fine to love Hawaii and Disneyland and The Eiffel Tower and such, but there are some wonderful places in this world that deserve your attention. They may not be as glamorous. They may require that you only drink bottled water. But the things you (and your children) learn and see will impact you in ways that Space Mountain cannot.
