Not taking anything away from the win tonight, but I don’t think St Mary’s ends
up as a tournament team. They do have a nice win at Utah State, but the Aggies won’t be a tournament team either.
1-4 vs Q1 and 2-0 vs Q2. They are still #36 in Kenpom after tonight’s loss though.
I see them going something like 2-6, maybe 3-5 vs the Zags/BYU/USF/Santa Clara (assuming their 2 postponed games vs Santa Clara/USF get rescheduled, if not they’ll likely be 1-5 in those games).
They seem like a solid bubble team although not good enough to be a tourney team. Probably a 2-3 seed in the NIT. But what do I know.
Was really hoping for 4 from the WCC this year, but at this point USF might need to beat us at home for that to happen so I’ll be fine with 2 teams getting in.
That being said, great win tonight against a strong team. Beat them at their own game
