Same story. It was easy to see that my friends had a lot more and nicer stuff.
My parents drove older cars than everyone.
We went on vacations maybe once every 3-4 years.
We went out to eat maybe once every two months to Chuck a Rama.
I had packed lunches with the same PB&J and an apple for like 10 years because school lunch was “too expensive.”
Also, my parents always told us they were poor.

Too bad you didn't go to my kid's schools. Lunch is free for all students. I don't know how they do it, but its all free
