Too bad you didn't go to my kid's schools. Lunch is free for all students. I don't know how they do it, but its all free
I went to school in the same district years ago and had to pay but something changed apparently. Probably a good thing for those that need it. I would rather have my tax dollars go to kid's lunches than just disappear into the district the way the rest of my taxes do.
