I worked closely with Men’s soccer about 10 years ago. At that time, they

definitely wanted to be D1, but it was a financial issue. They had someone who was willing to find the first 2 or 3 years, but the AD wanted an endowment of $10M, which they were actively fundraising for.

Things could have definitely changed in the last 10 years.
