Time to upgrade our smoke/fire detectors..
Our friend's house caught fire last night when a hoverboard burst into flames while charging. The homeowners didn't know about the fire until a neighbor started pounding on the door... luckily they got everybody out.

Like our friends, when our house was built they didn't put smoke alarms in the garage... As I was walking around today I noticed a few other rooms/places that could use a detector.

Does anybody know of a wireless (mesh/z-wave/radio) detector that integrates with wired detectors? I thought it would be easy to find a z-wave detector that would just plug into our existing hardwired system and act as a 'link' between the wireless and wired (when wireless goes off.. the wired sensors also would go off)... but this doesn't seem to exist.

It would be nice if the new smoke detectors would trigger the old network.
