Yes, but do you realize the money you put into your house, which in
this case is essentially a bank, loses value over time?

The money you use to pay down your principal doesn't appreciate or gain interest. It's your actual house that appreciates.

My argument is for people who are only going to be in their homes for less than ~10 years, which is most people.
