Obviously they wouldn’t watch it based on who’s in it. But I didn’t JUST watch it because of hot guys. Not what I said…I said I watched it every day because of that but had I watched it originally because I liked the story and I like some kinds of musicals. I didn’t watch it the first few times cause of cute guys, that’s just why I was obsessed with constantly watching.
I like stories of the “David beating Goliath” type.
And I like musicals not because I’m female, but because I like them. Men can enjoy musicals too and it doesn’t make them any less of a man. Saying men are “less of a man” because they enjoy certain art forms is exactly what toxic masculinity looks like. “You can only be a real man if you like ‘manly’ things like construction, dirt, fixing stuff, activities that take strength, etc” My dad loves musicals but also likes “man” stuff like sports and such (which aren’t just for men or ‘tomboy’ women but for the sake of this conversation…) and that doesn’t make him any less of a man. Just a well rounded man who isn’t too macho to like what he likes.
Rant over but if I can go on a feminist rant at any point, I’m going to 😜
