regenerate quicker (not bigger) and joints and injuries to do the same. Steroids make you bigger.
The fact that in the history of the world there has never been a QB that has played as late as Brady. Then factor in the fact that he is playing at an MVP level and he has really lost almost nothing on his arm strength.
So the reality is one of two things:
1.) Either he is one in 50 billion who father time doesn't effect. Or 2.) He is like 50% of his NFL teammates who use HGH. Of course he still needs to have incredible genes to play even on HGH at 44. But let's not pretend that drinking a lot of water turns back the clock on age.
Remember when the American cycler Tyler Hamilton swore he didn't use drugs and won the Tour de France? Or of course Lance Armstrong who just outworked everyone?
When it looks and acts like a duck, it has always been a duck. It used to be playing QB at 34 was an amazing feat. Now somehow Brady is playing at 44. But sure it is just drinking water.
