I think what he's getting at is the the ecclesiastical endorsement for an LDS student requires him/her to keep in good

standing with the Church. Essentially meaning staying active LDS. I don't know if that's still the same or if it has been changed. But at least in the past, yeah – an LDS student would not be able to pass the annual endorsement if he/she converted to Islam.
