Tyler didn't "take over" as you said because he always had to "take over" for that

team to win. I also remember several games where Haws was not good. For example he was 5-24 in the two WCC tournament games. Had he shown up for the game against St Marys BYU likely doesn't lose. But he was 2-14 with 5 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

Tyler's last game his Senior Year in the NCAA tournament he had 33 points against Ole Miss to go along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
