USAA wanted $200/month to add a 2nd teenage driver & vehicle to the policy. GEICO was cheaper than what I was paying USAA at the time even after adding my 2nd daughter.

Also, when we refinanced our house a few years ago, everyone kept telling us how expensive our Homeowner's insurance was with USAA.

I work in the claims world. When I had a hose burst in the garage (yes, the spigot is in the garage) it drenched a bunch of drywall. The USAA claims process was good, but not superior to many of the other insurers I work with on a daily basis. USAA used to be top notch before they started advertising on TV. They just got too large too fast. They have the same challenges burning out their claim reps that every other company has.
