Emotional manipulation? In that context it's just a tautology. It means nothing more than "I don't believe that emotion came from the Spirit," because obviously if the emotion did come from the Spirit, pointing that out isn't manipulation.

If the emotions don't come from the Spirit, then that's a different story, sure.

But "emotional manipulation" isn't an argument or a reason showing that the Spirit isn't involved, it is sophisticated-sounding way of stating a conclusion one has already reached on other grounds.
