"spiritual" experiences. It's really easy to generate an emotional response in someone; and moderately competent story teller can do that. I think we do our kids and teens a disservice when every bit of "spirituality" they get is some professionally made tear-jerking video or something like that. I also think it makes it hard to recognize still, small communications when all you're used to is spirituality through a processed emotional fire hose.
I'm not saying there isn't a place for that kind of stuff, but it needs to be balanced and it needs to be closely tethered to doctrinal sources, such as scriptural-based stuff. Reminds me of 1 Kings 19:11-12; if people are only used to "spiritual" earthquakes and fires they are unlikely to notice the still small voice.
