49ers have some mental intangibles going for them
Still have some key players from 2019 run. They have not lost to the Rams in three years and the Rams are reminded of this frequently. Akers is coming off two seconds half fumbles. The entire Rams team looked shaky trying to close out a Bucs team that had no offensive weapons.

Also this sounds weird, but opposing offenses are a bit conservative against the 49ers knowing Jimmy G cannot beat them. The fear is the 49ers front seven. This will keep San Francisco in the game.

Injuries will be big. What is the status of Deebo (should be fine), Trent Williams, and George Kittle? What was the deal with Elijah Mitchell in Packers game. Zero burst. No vision. No shake. One broken tackle that I can remember. Is he hiding an injury?

How about Whitworth for the Rams?
