No but it is when major repairs typically start being required. And the battery life on tesla's does appear to be
extending well beyond the 8 year mark.

Basically you can anticipate major repair costs starting after 100k miles on any car these days. That is year 8. When you throw in regular maintenance costs for the ICE car, v. little no maintenance costs on the electric, I think you basically call the 8 year expense to be a wash in factoring whether you should get an electric or ICE
