Our biggest takeaway that day was how grateful we were that it was a false alarm and he was healthy. Now that some time has passed and that “bigger picture” perspective has faded a bit, the bill was definitely irksome. But I know that all those that were treating our son that day had his best interests and health in mind.
And you’re right re: staph epi culture. Is that consistent with human error contamination or could it be some other contamination that wouldn’t have been the blood draw nurse or lab tech’s fault?
