I was in his ward in Philly area and the High Council at the time. While there were reasons to come out early to the NBA

Shawn was definitely not ready physically or mentally. Philly fans are brutal on top of that. Felt sorry for him. Stake President was adamant that he was not to be bombarded with requests to speak or firesides. He needed to focus entirely on his career, because he was highly at risk it was going to be a short one.
