business if you want to be competitive. Big time players know that and embrace it. If a player has issues with that and cites "loyalty", he's admitting he isn't sure of his own ability and doesn't know if he can win out in a competition. And that's not the guy you want, especially at QB.
Bring in Dart. If Conover is better than Dart, Conover will stay and win the job in 2023. If Dart is better than Hall he may get the starting nod this fall. Loyalty goes both ways. It means coaches give a guy on the roster a fair chance to win his position. It's exactly what they did to Zach leading up to his senior year. Loyalty also means that a guy gives his best effort but doesn't expect to be given something he didn't earn.
