I joke with my family and friends about how much cussing in the workplace bothered me when I was fresh out of BYU at my first professional job. In fact, at one time I was extremely weighed down about it and couldn't function properly.
Years later, I barely bat an eye at peoples' choices of words - unless it gets overtly sexual or crude in some other way. In some ways it's been a blessing, because I'm able to see past the language and see how good people still are. However, I still often think about how diluted the f-word is becoming. It's so commonplace to describe literally anything, which is just so strange when I think about what it means. If everything is ****ing ______, then nothing is ****ing ______.
