Yeah, it sounds like you are already recovering. That jolt you felt was the
needle contacting the large nerve we try to get anesthesia around. We don't know the exact location of it in each person, so sometimes we hit it directly. It goes numb fast and a lot of times lasts longer.

The nerve sheathe is pretty thick, so most of the time the needle glances off.
