Of course Dart would've been a huge get. QB depth is always important, and landing a guy like Dart really helps you get other elite players.

But...

Of all positions that would help BYU become a better team, the QB position isn't in the top 5.

My biggest criticism for the last 5 years has been our DL play, and IMO we've DESPERATELY needed to hit the portal to get help at DT and DE. Ika was maybe our best hope, but the hometown kid passed.

The BIG12 is quickly approaching, and I think we have good talent in several position groups to compete. Hall/Conover is on par with any Big12 QB room, but if we don't get some immediate help on the defensive side of the treneches, we're going to get steamrolled. Baylor showed that last season.
