I didn’t think I was bullying or even being mean. I really thought it was a joke that she could handle. I’ll never forget the look of embarrassment on her face. At the time I had no grasp of how sensitive girls are about weight/image. Boys are incredibly stupid and self-absorbed.

As an adult and a dad of several girls, I’ve thought about that moment probably hundreds of times. I feel tremendous guilt for hurting that girl’s confidence.
