Shouldn't surprise. He grew a LOT his final season.

Went from a skinny to a strong kid in one season. From a marginal D1 prospect to one of the best players in the state. If the kid doesn't end up a 3 I'll be surprised. After hitting the college weight program, he's gonna be a beast.

I think Pope's reaction was a "Geesh, sorry, kid...uh...I meant to...we kept our eye on you...geesh please accept my humblest apologies & grab our offer as if we extended it two years ago like we woulda had we had ANY idea you were gonna up an...uh...BLOSSOM like this."
